Job Description: Electrical Engineer

Education: Electrical Engineering Degree

Job Description

Position requires thorough knowledge of industrial process design and engineering techniques. Responsible to plan and conduct independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, equipment and criteria. Devise new approaches to problems, and prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs, and monitor work for compliance to applicable codes and accepted engineering practices.

Specific Responsibilities

• Develop standard operating procedures for various positions at plant.
• Determine and implement equipment, procedural and materials improvements to increase production yields.
• Assess processes for their relevance and assess adequacy of engineering equipment.
• Monitor plant modifications and upgrades and troubleshoot existing processes.
• Assess availability of raw materials including quality and cost impact.
• Ensure that all aspects of operation meet specified safety regulations and compliance with all environmental regulations .
• Project management duties for medium size capital and expense projects including cost and time constraints.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• Requires a broad knowledge of most engineering disciplines.
• Ability to communicate with plant management, technical staff and hourly plant personnel.
• Collecting and interpreting data from technical and operations staff.
• Electronic computer drafting proficiency (ACAD)
• Prepare reports, flow diagrams and charts.
• Select, manage and work with contractors.
• Working knowledge of process safety management principles.
