Iron Pyrite
Iron Pyrite
Iron Pyrite, distributed by Washington Mills, is specially prepared from carefully selected pure mono-crystalline iron pyrites (FeS2). The material consists of finely grained Pyrite crystal splinters, which increase the thermal conductivity, the tensile strength, and the porosity of resin-bonded grinding wheels and cut off wheels.
Applications:
Iron Pyrite is used as an active filler in hot and cold pressed grinding wheels, brake pads and brake linings, as well as friction markets to help increase thermal conductivity. Iron Pyrite can also help to balance the hardness and friction coefficient of brake pads.
The material improves durability and increases efficiency and is therefore used successfully in the grinding industry. Using Iron Pyrite lowers the pressure and hence the heat variations during the grinding process.
