Interested in showing audiences how abrasives are made, the producers of the show approached Washington Mills to request exploring and filming our manufacturing process. How It's Made spent two full days filming at our plants in Niagara Falls, Ontario, creating a segment which features a behind-the-scenes look at the work that goes into making high-quality abrasive grains.

The episode first aired on Discovery Channel on January 22, 2008, and has since been re-aired in multiple languages and across global markets. Today, re-runs of How It's Made air on the Science Channel and Discovery, and can be streamed on platforms such as Discovery+, Max, Hulu, Tubi, and Pluto TV.
